š¾ What Dogs Can Teach Us About Stewardship, Gratitude, and Grace
As I walk along the beach with my dogs, I often notice two sets of tracks in the sandāmy footprints and their paw prints.
At first glance, they seem ordinary. Just another walk, another day, another tide that will eventually wash the evidence away.
Yet these quiet moments often remind me of something deeper.
My dogs don't worry about tomorrow. They don't measure success, compare themselves to others, or carry the burdens that so often occupy the human mind. They greet each day with enthusiasm, trust, and gratitude for life's simple gifts: fresh air, food, companionship, and the freedom to explore.
Watching them has taught me something about stewardship.
As their owner, I am responsible for their care, safety, and well-being. They depend on me in ways that remind me that responsibility is not a burden but a privilege. How I respond to that responsibility says something about my character.
At the same time, their simple trust reminds me that I, too, depend on gifts I did not create for myselfāthe air I breathe, the food I eat, the beauty of the ocean, and the relationships that enrich my life.
In those moments, I am reminded that God can be found not only in grand experiences, but also in the ordinary rhythms of daily life.
