🕊️ Finding Peace in a Noisy World
Lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed watching reels related to the Deaf community. Some are positive and uplifting, but others feel heavy and negative. Over time, I realized it was affecting my energy more than I wanted.
So I made a choice — to step back, focus on my own life, and protect my peace.
As a Deaf person, I’ve experienced both challenges and growth. One example that frustrated many in the Deaf community was when ASL interpreters were removed from certain White House press briefings. I understand why that upset people.
For me, I chose to stay calm. With today’s technology, I can still access important information through both Deaf and hearing news sources. It may not be perfect, but I’ve learned to adapt.
When it comes to politics, I’ve also chosen not to engage in division. I don’t align myself with political parties or movements. From my personal beliefs and studying the Bible, I see Jesus Christ as the only true King. Presidents, including Donald Trump, are leaders I respect for their role, even if I don’t agree with every decision.
I’ve learned that constantly engaging in conflict — online or in real life — takes away from peace.
Instead, I choose:
Peace over arguments
Growth over negativity
Taking care of my mind and well-being
When I was younger, life was very different. Technology was limited, and access wasn’t easy. Today, we have so many tools available to us. That’s something I don’t take for granted.
This is the path I’ve chosen — to live with balance, stay grounded, and protect my peace.
